The story I heard was that my dad was working in a soda shop in Bay Ridge and there was a contest to win a bicycle. my mom came in and entered the contest.
Somehow she won and my Dad hand delivered the bike to her. That was it! Love at first sight I guess.

They were married at St. Anselm's RC Church on 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge Brooklyn on September 14, 1946

My dad was in the Navy during WWII.
He used to tell stories of crossing the equator and seeing battles.
It was always interesting to hear him talk about it.
